I have developed a proof of concept iPhone application capable of establishing a wireless connection to a vehicle’s OBD‑2 and CAN bus systems directly via Bluetooth. Meaning the vehicle would have a bluetooth module to allow this communication. Once connected, the app delivers real‑time diagnostics: engine temperature, battery health, fuel efficiency metrics, and fault code listings, allowing users to monitor critical parameters without leaving their vehicle. The interface is designed for clarity and ease of use, enabling swift identification of potential issues before they become serious problems. I anticipate the integration of 5G‑enabled remote diagnostics as vehicles become more connected and available to the 5gSA spectrum, permitting the transmission of diagnostic packets from any location directly to the vehicle’s onboard computer and receiving immediate feedback on mechanical status. This enhancement will extend the app’s functionality, ensuring continuous monitoring and providing drivers with reliable, real‑time insights into their car’s health regardless of geographic constraints.
